6 - Bending of tank sections and welding of the tanks

  • Digital control bending machine to bend tank sections with a diameter up to 2.50m
  • The tank sections are hand welded before their complete assembly
  • They are then assembled and welded
  • They are continuously welded by a purpose-made robot
  • Tank accessories are hand welded (rear buttresses, indicators, supports,...)

7 - Galvanization

  • 2010: creation of a JOSKIN galvanizing plant.
  • Parts are hanged on large frames and moved by a travelling crane
  • They then go through an hermetic area with 13 baths for their pre-treatment
    Stages: removal of grease marks - rinsing - scraping - rinsing - dezincification - fluxing (anti-oxydant protective coat)
  • Zinc bath: parts are plunged into molten zinc (450°C) at an angle and speed depending of the type of part. The immersion time varies between 3 and 15 minutes
  • The parts are then dried and stored before their collection

8 - Painting

  • Separate treatment of the components for an optimal quality and protection of the steel
  • Shot-blasting of the components

9 - Assembly and finishing of tankers

  • Assembly of the accessories (suction arm, suction valves,...) and of the running gear according to the equipment
